Lyric, Cara's Lyric von Talon BH, TR1, CGC, completed an OB 1 with a score of 84 under Austrian Judge Johannes Eitler. Lyric competed the following day for her Schutzhund 1 title and received the scores of 93-93 and a 96 in protection "a". She was high scoring dog for the two day trial and was the only dog that had that "explosive" intensity in protection that the judge was looking for. She was the only non-shepherd to compete in a GSD Working Dog Association Club. We will have a page for Lyric soon.

Friday, Cara's Thank God It's Friday, SchH 3 gets her SchH 3 at the Rocky Mountain Schutzhund Club trial under Judge Johannes Grewe. Scores 92-80-82 254.

John Soares joins Cara! John Soares is now offering specialized Doberman schutzhund training at Cara. Classes, private training, and boarding/training are offered. Classes are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. For more information or to sign up, please contact John at 973-715-0212.

IMPORTANT. Cara is compiling a comprehensive list of genetic health testing, cause of death, and age at death for all Cara Dobermans. If you own a Cara doberman please email us at caradobe@aol.com with the subject line HEALTH TESTING. In the email, indicate the following:

1. Complete registered name of dog
2. Sire and dam names
3. Date of birth
4. Genetic health tests completed including dates: vWD, CERF, OFA hips, OFA elbows, thyroid, cardiac ultrasound/EKG
5. Cause of death (if applicable). Include if it is verifiable (i.e., confirmed by necropsy) or a "best guess."

Congratulations to Cara's Red Sasha, IPO 3 (Alex Black Sagita x Alida von der Kaiserkrone) on earning First Place in the 10th IDC World Championship (Weltmeisterschaft) on May 28, 2005 in Munich, Germany . . . and . . .

Congratulations also to Cara's Top Shelf, SchH 3, IPO 3 (Ch Cara's Skeeter, SchH 1, ZTP 1A (Skeeter) x Bonita von der Schwarzen Lagune, SchH 2, IPO 3, ZVV1) in placing fourth!

This is the first time in the history of the breed that an American-bred working dog has won an event and placed in the top 10 in the entire world! Two Dobermans from the Cara breeding program, Sasha and Topper have accomplished the ultimate win in the IPO III World Championship! Both dogs are owned and bred by Ray Carlisle. "Sasha" is co-owned and handled by Ludek Silhavy, "Topper" is co-owned and handled by John Soares.

Topper, Cara's Top Shelf, SchH 3, IPO 3 and John Soares qualify for Italian National FCI team! Topper and John have become the first doberman team to ever qualify for the FCI for Italy. At the qualifying trial, Topper was HIT obedience, with a score of 96. Congrats to John and Topper.
